All of our tags are manufactured using the highest grade raw plastics required to create a strong yet flexible tag which allows an animal to break free if it gets its ear caught but not break the tag or rip the ear.
We never use recycled plastic or a pre bought composites as we cannot guarantee the quality.
The Caisley Long Term Breeding sheep tags arrive hygienically packed in pairs made from the highest grade plastic. Our specialised tag design creates a clean and precise hole and with our unique design of EiD tags 100% read guaranteed for life. But most importantly they come with a patented ventilation system allowing the ear to heal quickly after tagging, preventing infection. All tags can be applied with our universal applicator guaranteeing accuracy with its straight line action with easy secured loading and quick release after tagging.
Caisley have a range of FlexoPlus visual cattle tags including large and medium sizes with the option of EID and management space. All tags arrive in strips with the tags required for each animal preventing mistakes with mixed tags in the same animal. Loading of the tags is simple yet very secure ensuring that the tags remain firmly in our Universal applicator making the tagging process easy and accurate. ‘X’ marks the spot where the tag should be positioned. Tagging is quick and should be applied with the pin entering from the rear of the ear.
Caisley have developed a unique tissue sample tag. The tags are easy and securely loaded into our universal applicator. Our applicator guarantees accuracy with its straight line action with easy secured loading and quick release after tagging. The sheep is tagged as usual but a tissue sample remains in an instantly sealed tube. The tube carries the exact same information as the ear tag left in the animal. The tissue sample is then ready to be sent off for disease or DNA analysis.
Caisleys EID tags are very light weight & uniquely moulded as one piece using the latest EID technology available, guaranteeing 100% readability for life. The tags are precision engineered to have a convex shape to the rear and air slots built in to the tag to allow rapid healing of the ear after tagging. Which in turn help prevents infected ears. Opt for button tags or standard FlexoPlus tag and with or without tissue sampling tubes.
Only one applicator is required to insert all types of tag, including the FLEXOPLUS®Geno tissue sampling and FLEXOTRONIC® EID tags. The Universal Applicator has a patented parallel closing mechanism, which inserts the tag with minimum effort and damage to ear tissue.
Caisley’s uniquely formulated tag marker pen is designed to be used with our high quality tags. The pen allows easy writing and almost instant drying, meaning that is no hanging around required before tagging.
The unique ink formula is designed to bond with our plastic allowing a deep and long lasting print on the tag.

All of our tags including these Geno tags arrive in strips. For BVD samples you must use a white tube and not a pink tube which is used only for DNA.
Tagging of the calf is quick, accurate and stress free for both the calf and the operator. Always ensure you tag the calf from the rear of its ear as the tag mechanism must be in the inside of the ear.
The tissue sample after tagging is held firmly in the applicator until you are ready to remove and further process.
For extra peace of mind the tissue sample from the animal can be easily seen in the tube as demonstrated here with the black piece of hair and tissue. Store the samples in your neck storage devise until you are ready to process or store in a fridge.
